15 Dec 2017 - Shanghai Day 1: Touch Down at Pudong Airport (上海浦东机场)

We touched down at Shanghai Pudong Airport at about 6am.  The custom clearance was ok and it did not take too long.

We had booked our Airport Hotel Shuttle (Egobus) before the trip.  Though it's more expensive than using the public transport (Metro), we wanted a more hassle-free and comfortable ride to our hotel.  As we were the only ones booked on the shuttle at that time, we had the entire mini bus all to ourselves.

The journey from Pudong Airport to our hotel at Hong Qiao (虹桥) took about an hour.  As it's still early in the morning when we reached the hotel, our room was not ready for us to check in.  We decided to leave our luggage at the concierge and start exploring Shanghai.

After enquiring on the location of a nearby mall, we decided to go there for our breakfast.

The weather was wet and cold today.  Hopefully it will not dampen our spirit for our upcoming trip in Shanghai.

The first mall that we visited in Shanghai is Arch Walk.

What attracted us is its unique building architecture.
